Who speaks for the University of Colorado?

Faculty, staff and students are welcome to speak with the media to share their scholarly expertise or personal perspective. If they choose to engage, it is important to clarify whether they are speaking in an academic capacity or from personal experience — not on behalf of the university. The Regents of the University of Colorado, the president of the university and/or the chancellor of the campus, are solely authorized to adopt positions and make statements on matters of social or political concern to the university or any of its campuses. CU faculty, staff and students can read the regent's policy: Board of Regents APS 2028
